HALLOWEEN 2017

COMMUNITY CATS NETWORK HAVE ISSUED THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT.

We feel it necessary to issue a precautionary notice of cats going missing around the Ballinspittle-Kilbrittain area. These cats are all black. They all lived within a few miles of one another. They all went missing within a 24 hour period between Tues 10/10/17 and Wed 11/10/17.
We have contacted the Gardai in Bandon and Kinsale, as well as local Gardai, to inform them of our suspicions.
As a matter of some urgency we would appeal to anyone who may have noticed anything out of the usual around the areas mentioned to contact us, in confidence, through private message to this page or by ringing, 086 4676111. All contacts will be held in the strictest confidence.
As a general warning we would urge all cat owners to be extra vigilant around this time of year. Halloween can be a fun time but it also brings out some pretty asinine behaviour that involves direct cruelty to animals, especially cats.
CCN is now working with Community Gardai to bring this matter to a speedy resolution.
We would ask our followers to share this as far and as wide as they possibly can.

KITTENS for adoption. Please go to our Facebook page cork cat action trust and message us when looking to adopt etc. The kittens on this page and website are from JUNE 2016 etc and not currently available kittens or cats. Thank you.

The

Kittens june 2016 image imageIts a crazy time of year. 19 kittens, 18 of them under 9 weeks. Black, Black Black, and a couple of Black and Whites (and 4 tinies, not yet 4 weeks old). Beautiful little characters. DYING for some fun with their own families. Will all be vaccinated in the next week or so, and then will be ready to go. Some long haired, some short haired.
I think the big black cat is saying “you can come out and play too, when you’re bigger”.

Curly Sue the large tabby cat has three kittens. One is dark silver with black stripes. The second is white socks with tabby body and the third is a fluffy long haied black. All are boys.

Stuck up a chimney

imageOne April evening, I went out to feed the cats their supper at midnight. I heard a cat yowling from next doors field but could not work out where it was coming from.

After a search with a light and much calling I located the cries attached to a set of glowing eyes high up on the chimney of a derelict, but well constructed stone built cottage. Only problem being kitty aka “Engine” was refusing to get down.

And there began three days of stress. Whenever we went over to get or in our case try get Engine down, one of our older cats, Polo, came over and called repeatedly to Engine. Polo never talks so I reckon he knew Engine was in trouble.

Little It. Nov 2014

UPDATE DECEMBER 2015

little it is a permanent resident since December 2014 as she is suffering a constant lymph node issue. She was found trapped in a walled in back yard abandoned by mum cat which may explain when she gets  to be on your neck and under your hair she nuzzles you. She is afraid of new noises such as newspaper being crumbled. She loves treats, especially ham and all other meat. So she tends to be overly helpful in the kitchen when food is being prepared. She has the loudest purr of any kitten I have had.

When she gets stressed and is unwell she insists in sneaking down to the bedroom which is off limits. But because she was not supposed to live very long she has learnt we will let her get her own way.

Jakie and Dubh both rehomed.

IMG_2220 Jakie & DubhJakie (black and white) and his foster sister Dubh, are lovely gentle kittens.  They are about 5 months old, and are neutered and vaccinated.  They would be perfect pets, friendly and gentle.   They like a warm bed together, and access to the open (provided it’s safe).   Both were rescued kittens, and have become the best of friends.

Phone or text Ann on 086 828 1461 if you are interested.

Harbour View 4

Harbour view kits

Four of these sweeties are now re-homed.   The only one left is the black and white male kitten in the back row.    He is neutered and vaccinated, and is now about 4.5 months old.    25.09.14

Hi ya’ll.    We’re the Harbour View 4.   (We were 5, but Teetwo  was adopted last week, lucky fellow!!)  They woke us up to take this picture, so we were looking a bit sleepy, but otherwise we move too fast to be photoed!!      We want to get our own homes.   Give us a break – ADOPT A KITTY TODAY.    Seriously, we’re the business.    Give Ann a call on 086 828 1461 if you want to know more.   XXXX from us to you.

Rosie and Emma

IMG_1968 ROSIE Lr. Rd. IMG_1948 Emmy 2 LR. RD.

Rehomed.

Rosie and her 3 kittens were found near Kent Station in Cork.   None of the residents nearby had seen them before, and thought that they had been abandoned there.   Rosie is a shy gentle little cat, now neutered and vaccinated, and still very young but she looked after her 3 kittens superbly.    Two of them were adopted by neighbors.

But Emma wasn’t wanted because she is female.   She is now also neutered and vaccinated, and is a bundle of fun and energy – really bombproof kitten, and well suitable for children.     Her little face seems to say ” Let me out – I want to play”    These little cats would make a ready made family for any cat lover, although they can of course be adopted separately.         25.09.14
